He turned green after eating the shellfish, which the waiter had recommended. It went without saying, but he said it anyway: "I don't feel too good." Which of the following is an error in the passage above?

Answer

The word "good" is used instead of "well."

Rationale

In formal English, "well" is the adverb used to describe how someone feels (physically), while "good" is an adjective describing quality or character. The correct phrasing should be "I don't feel too well," since it modifies the verb "feel" in the sense of physical condition. The passage's use of "good" instead of "well" is a classic adjective/adverb confusion error.
